How It Works

This n8n automation operates in three main stages: form submission, AI role identification, and Slack integration.

When a new employee fills out the ‘Create User’ form, the data is instantly sent to the AI Agent. This agent is powered by Anthropic Chat Model for reasoning and PostgreSQL Chat Memory for context retention. Using these tools, the agent fetches employee data from Microsoft Entra ID and creates user records in Jira Software.

Next, the AI Agent checks whether the user is a manager. If true, it automatically adds them to a Slack channel dedicated to management communication. If false, it updates the employee’s Slack profile and assigns them to their respective team channels.

The entire process is displayed in the image: data flows from form submission to AI processing, branching logic (“Is Manager?”), and final Slack updates—creating a seamless digital onboarding experience.

How to Use

Before you start, ensure your Slack, Microsoft Entra ID, and Jira Software credentials are connected to n8n.
